Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk opened in 1907 and is the oldest amusement park in California still in operation. Two of its rides are National Historic Landmarks: the Looff Carousel of 1911, where riders still reach for brass rings, and the Giant Dipper, a wooden roller coaster that has been running since 1924.
